No matter what someone tells you, you are a beautiful magical forest creature.
There is no guidebook, step-by-step how-to, initiation process, physical manifestation that must be achieved, chant to be said, or anything of that nature to determine elvishness. Calling oneself an elf, not including those who identify as otherkin, is a method of expressing ones aesthetic, lifestyle, dreams, and passions. It is a statement of walking a path entwined with the natural world, the magic within it, and allowing it to be one of the fires fueling your life and the decisions you make. The realm of elves can inspire your artwork, house decor, clothing choices, hair styles, or food preparation, or spiritual practices. It’s a way of making clear the energies you resonate highest with, in this situation being the elvish race, culture, and lore. All of the creatures on this planet find home within differing niches; some having existed in our recorded history, some only being majorly recorded in our planet’s fiction. It isn’t about becoming anything. It’s about embracing who you are, the facets of yourself, and passionately expressing it. For some this is building homes modeled after hobbit holes, recreating ships that famous pirates sailed, draping oneself in Victorian dresses, decorating oneself with Viking jewelry, embodying the whimsy of faeries, or embracing the elvish spirit. There is no becoming, just being. The greenest and leafiest of hugs to you, fluffling :) Love love love to you and yours!
